Founded in memory of Chairman Emeritus, Late Shri Ramesh Gupta, the Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust (RGMT) is dedicated to bringing hope and healing to those in need. Committed to the welfare of underprivileged children battling cancer, this non-profit, non-political organization transforms lives through social, humanitarian, and charitable support.
About The Trust
"Seva Parmo Dharma"—a powerful quote from the Bhagavad Gita meaning "Service is the highest religion"—is the guiding principle of Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust. The Trust firmly believes that serving society in any form is a service to the nation, and supporting the needy is a service to God.
Major Functions
- Providing financial aid to economically challenged patients
- Organizing counseling and support programs for cancer patients and their families
- Supporting initiatives related to the fight against cancer
- Providing specialized childhood cancer awareness training to recognize early signs and symptoms and extend emotional and financial support
Additionally, the Trust works towards cancer prevention by implementing healthcare programs in rural communities, conducting awareness camps, and educating the public about cancer and its treatment. Through shared care centers in Biratnagar, Pokhara & Surkhet, it ensures accessible treatment and support, enabling more patients to receive quality care close to home.
Successfully Conducted Cytotoxic Drug Management Training in Kathmandu
Cytotoxic Drug Management training at Hotel Shanker, Kathmandu, where 35 pharmacists and nurses from Kanti Children's Hospital, Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, and Patan Academy of Health Sciences were trained, led by experts Ms. Lamiya and Dr. Barry Pizer, the session focused on improving medication handling to boost childhood cancer survival rates, with support from World Child Cancer and Amgen.
Mission Zero: Curing Childhood Cancer Pre Event
An exclusive roundtable discussion was held on 20th November 2024 at Hotel Aloft, Kathmandu, organized by the Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust. The event focused on fostering a dialogue surrounding the Nepal government's recent declaration to provide free cancer treatment for children under the age of 14. It brought together prominent stakeholders, including hospital directors, pediatric oncologists, and representatives from UNICEF, WHO, INGOs, and various NGOs, to explore collaborative approaches and challenges in improving childhood oncology outcomes in Nepal.
Joining forces for Hope and Healing
We are pleased to announce our collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, USA, to improve child oncology outcomes in Nepal. Through strategic coordination with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and ALSAC, we aim to effectively address and reduce the rate of refusal and abandonment in childhood cancer treatment.

RGMT partnered with Kankali School, Kanti Children’s Hospital, and Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital to conduct a community awareness program that reached 92 parents, supported by World Child Cancer and Amgen.
Partnering with Foundations for Childhood Cancer in Japan
The Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust participated in the St. Jude Asia Pacific Regional Meeting held in Yokohama, Japan from June 20 to 22, 2024. Organized by St. Jude Children's Hospital and ALSAC, the conference aimed to foster collaboration among foundations dedicated to childhood cancer. Key objectives included enhancing corporate partnerships, improving access to care and treatment through hospital and foundation collaborations, optimizing fundraising efforts, activating volunteers, and sharing experiences in the field.
Attending the Global Alliance Convening
The Ramesh Gupta Memorial attended the Global Alliance Convening organized by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, from December 9 to 12, 2024. The event brought together 243 representatives from 97 countries, comprising members from hospitals, foundations, and organizations working in pediatric cancer care. The convening was an invaluable opportunity for networking, collaboration, and sharing insights aimed at improving childhood cancer care and outcomes globally.
